Tuesday,
May 29, 2007 - Meeting Notes
The meeting was
called to order a few minutes early, the weather
was so nice we wanted to get back out there &
fly.
Dave Q. read the notes from the April
meeting, there were no corrections or
additions to be made. He then read the
treasurer's report which was accepted without any
changes or modifications.
Old Business:
Wings of Mercy is this next Saturday -
June 2nd, 2007. We need to be there by
7:00 to setup, and then the event starts at 7:30
and runs until around noon. Todd O. will be
bringing a large screen TV to display videos as
well as a computer so we will be able to have the
G3 flight sim running for entertaining the kids.
We'll be setting up in the same location as last
year - the Executive Air Hanger for those of you
who do not know.
The club trainer is complete and ready to
fly. It is now in the shed - who is
going to put the next trim flight on it? Lyle
said he doesn't want to do it because of what
happened the last time he flew it.
Our mascot is now living under the shed -
if anyone knows how to get a skunk to move on,
please help it find a new home.
The solar frequency sniffer project is
going to work just fine. Todd O is going
to order what is needed and get it setup.
Glen is going to fix the mower that Sid
Johnson donated. Sid didn't know the
transmision casing was cracked when he donated
it. Bill & Todd found out when the loaded it
up for the trip to the field. Thanks for
volunteering to help Glen!
For those who are mowing the field, we
appreciate the help - but please do not
put the mower deck below the last notch! Someone
has scalped the grass very badly and it has
already burnt. We'd like to have a green field
for the fun fly and that new burnt yellow strip
just doesn't look good at all!
Bill D. was able to get TruGreen out for
a weed & feed treatment. We didn't
see a single dandelion on the field. Thanks for
helping get a great deal on that Bill!
The PCRC Fun Fly on
June 24th:
Bill D is going to pick up the food - burgers
and hotdogs & all the fixins. Club members
are still asked to bring a dish to pass as well
as everyone bring your own soft drinks. There is
a little confusion as to who is supposed to call
to get the port-o-jon pumped, but it needs to be
done now as well as the Friday before the Fun
Fly.
There will be a few competitions,
talk to Lyle for the details on those. We are
also going to be having a raffle for that stuff
you no longer use. Don't bring your old busted
garbage - bring stuff that is too good to be
thrown away, but not really worth anything to you
either.
We will be needing coffee cans for the
raffle - many coffee cans. So if you are
bringing items to donate to the raffle, please
try to bring a coffee can for each item. Lyle and
others were talking about an interesting way to
raffle the stuff, I'm not 100% sure that I could
describe it right, but it sounds like fun. So
please bring your items to donate and a can to go
with each item!
(Extra cans will be welcome.)
Joe Clark Sr was voted on for a free
membership for 2007 for his fund raising
help last year. Something about him being the guy
who helped to donate a plane that was raffled.
Thanks JOE!!!
You should all start seeing some new
faces floating around the field. We've
had quite a few new members lately and I don't
have all their names so I'll just say welcome to
all the new PCRC members.
Final note, Dave has submitted the list
to the wastewater for the wastewater passes.
Everyone is supposed to have one on their vehicle
though we have never heard of anyone being
checked to see if they have one. It's the
process... so what the heck.
The meeting was adjourned with plenty of time to
spare for a few flights.
